It all started with a vision of having a peaceful, quiet place to enjoy and to photograph clients. I recall staring at our dense backyard numerous times trying to figure out even where to begin. It was during one of my garden idea trips that I discovered this timeless-looking garden cherub statue, which I thought would make a perfect finishing touch to our outdoor space. Ideas soon started to flow...
The garden features wrought iron gate and panels reclaimed from Cairo, planters, trellises, arches, topiaries, a rose collection and a lily pond. Sitting quietly in the heart of the backyard is the garden villa, which is used for private events and short-term lodging. Although the project took seven years of work and hundreds of plants, it was a labor of love that provides a wonderful palette for Simon’s work now and will continue to do so for the years to come.
